Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate differently to what is happening in your life, a way of taking charge of your life, a way of doing something for yourself that no one else can do for you. It involves consciously working with stress, pain, illness and the challenges and demands of everyday life. This course will teach you ways to live more in the present and to treat yourself and others with more understanding and compassion.This 8-week course teaches a range of mindfulness techniques, gentle movement practices and offers group support.

Asana Pranayama and Meditation Workshop

This workshop is designed for students with some experience of yoga or meditation who wish to broaden their practice by exploring different ways of using the breath. You will be introduced to a unique approach to breathwork, drawing form both the Buddhist perspective exposed in the anapanasati sutra and Christophe’s extensive  study and practice of pranayama. it includes mindful breathing practice, as well as Surya namaskar, asana and pranayama.

 

The Art of Viniyoga 

 A Sādhana Māla Study Course to deepen your practice and discover the principles that underpin viniyoga 

Course Content: Planning a practice; breath in asana, seated breathing and meditation; philosophy; chant – and more!

This course is a wonderful opportunity for more experienced students, and teachers from other traditions, to learn more about viniyoga. It is not a teacher-training course, but can, if you wish serve as a stepping-stone to the Sādhana Māla Teacher Training Programme

Course Structure: Introductory Day, Saturday, 21st November, 2015, Weekend 1: 23rd-24th January, 2016, Weekend 2: 12th-13th March, 2016, Weekend 3, 23rd-24th April, 2016, plus significant online material as an integral part of the course

Angel Healing with Mary Stacey

My name is Mary Stacey and I have worked as a Medium and Spiritual Healer in the Wicklow area for over 20 years and to share my gifts with others I run an open group named Angel Healing. Here you will learn how to connect to your Angels and Guides, to trust in your Higher Self, bring abundance into your life and you will also learn how to read  Angel cards. It will be a day where you can be with like minded people, laugh, and have some fun. The cost of the day is €50, one off special price to celebrate my first Workshop with Santosha Studio.

Pranayama and Meditation Workshop

Cristophe is back in Dalkey with his afternoon workshop, designed for experienced asana practionners who wish to broaden their practice, particularly by exploring different ways of working with the breath. The first part of the workshop will focus specifically on breath awareness meditation practice, based on the Anapana sati sutra, We will also use asanas work to explore how the body affects the breath and how the breath affects the body.

The second part of the workshop is designed to give students some tools and techniques to build a pranayama practice. We will explore different breathing ratio using some classical pranayamas, especially nadi shodana, and we will talk about swara yoga. We will also discuss bandhas and their use in pranayama practice.

Important note: This is not a beginners workshop, it is only suitable for students who already have an established asana practice in any tradition of yoga. Participants should be able to to sit still for a minimum of 20 minutes in virasana/ vajrasana, siddhasana or (preferably) padmasana. Familiarity with backbends and inverted postures is also desirable.

Yoga teachers are very welcome and will greatly benefit from doing this workshop. Cost of the workshop is 30 euros for the afternoon (2 to 5 pm), advanced booking essential.

 

Mandala Workshop

This mandala workshop last year not only sold out but also passed all the expectations. We are delighted to have Barbara offering the Mandala Workshop in Santosha this June again.

Yarn mandala weaving is a simple or complex weaving made across two or more sticks that carry the spiritual significance of “the power to see and understand things unknown.”

It is my wish to share with you the beauty of the mandala weaving process, hoping that you can find in this activity a way to become more connected to your inner self in relationship to the “other,” the world, and the spirit.

All materials will be provided. Of course everyone is welcome to bring his/her favourite yarn colours.

Sound and Chant Workshop

Everybody has a voice! Sound has great potential for harnessing and releasing energy. In these workshops we’ll use the traditional framework of yoga postures and seated chant as a basis for exploring the energetic potential of sound and movement in a creative and imaginative way, bringing in some freer, more improvisatory work, exploring resonance and making connections with sound and colour. All welcome – no previous experience with either sound or yoga necessary!
